The Parable of the Ten Virgins

Five were wise and ready for the Lord's return. Five were foolish and were not.

Matthew 25:1-13 - The Ten Virgins

Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. Who Am I

I was radically transformed by the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ back in 1997 in a most unusual way and unusual place. Over the years of my walk with God, I have come to realize a few basic truths that have altered my life. When I believed in Jesus, His death and His resurrection, I was born again. I am now a NEW CREATION in Christ. A creation that did not exist before. I have relocated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. I now fight the good fight of faith to live as a citizen of my new location; the kingdom of God.

Not of this world

We are not of this world

As Christians, although we live in this world, we are not of this world. This world is a place of darkness ruled by the prince of the power of the air; Satan (Ephesians 2:2). Satan is referred to as the ruler of this world in John 12:31 and hence evil is manifested in this world in various forms. But as believers, we have been translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light.

The Power of the Holy Spirit

The Power of the Holy Spirit

How do you know if the power of the Holy Spirit is in you?

Christians are taught to believe that the power of the Holy Spirit is available for us when we need it because Jesus said, I will send you a Helper. Helper, comforter, encourager for what? To help me with what?

the Lord's Supper

The Lord’s Supper

The Lord’s supper is also called the Lord’s table or the Holy Communion. What exactly is the Lord’s Supper? Why did the Lord ask us to do this in remembrance of Him? How exactly do we partake of the Lord’s Supper?
We know that Jesus our Lord bore all our sins upon Himself. We know that He took our sicknesses and diseases that we imposed upon ourselves due to enslavement to sin. But how exactly do we “experience” the benefits of His work on the cross?

John 7-17

John 7:17

John 7:17 – “If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know about the teaching, whether it is of God, of I am speaking from Myself.” NASB. Are you confused with so many contradictory messages out there? Jesus gives us the answer in John 7:17.

help my unbelief

Help My Unbelief

Help my unbelief is the most honest prayer a Christian can pray. Much of the anxieties and frustrations in our lives could be avoided if only we could believe the word of God.
Belief is not belief unless you act like what you say you believe. Until then, it is just knowledge. It is knowledge of the truth indeed, but still, it is just knowledge. And knowledge of God’s word does not get you results. Belief does.

Following Jesus

Following Jesus

Following Jesus involves dying to oneself, dying to worldliness, and living for just one goal in life, which is to put to death every lust of the flesh so that we can present our bodies as living sacrifices unto God and teach as many as we can to do the same.
