why do you believe in Jesus?

Why do you believe in Jesus?

Why do you believe in Jesus? Is it because He did a miracle in your life? Is it because you saw someone getting healed miraculously? Is it because your prayers got answered when you were desperate for something? Is it because of the many signs you saw which led you to believe that this Jesus is probably real? Here’s a good one. Is it because you have seen that most professing Christians are somewhat good, kindhearted, polite, don’t usually swear, and are most helpful…and so you probably think it’s a good thing? What is the most forceful motivator that causes you to believe in Jesus? Why do you believe in Jesus?

Newness of life

Newness of Life

Newness of life is not about turning over a new leaf or reworking or reforming or renovation. The bible says Christ was raised by the glory of the Father ie the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the expression of that glory. Hebrews 1 says Jesus is the exact representation of the Father.  The bible says “Even so”, we also should walk in the newness of life. This newness of life is a new quality of life. Not just a change in behavior. This life is a supplanting of the old life with the new. A replacement. Not making the old life better because we are now Christians but replacing the old life with the new.

intimacy with God

Intimacy with God

Ever wondered if it was possible to have such intimacy with God that you could literally commune with Him every day? Eg: What if you could talk to Him every day like if He were right next to you and you could ask Him for guidance? What if you could be really intimate with Him and nothing in this world would ever matter anymore? You would say that you probably are already doing that. But truly, IF we were enjoying such intimacy with God, then we wouldn’t be worried, or feeling depressed or asking God for a miracle or healing for ourselves, etc. When you know someone so closely, then you don’t need to ask for something again and again right? Eg: My wife and I are really close to each other, and we live together every day. It would be weird for me not to know her and keep checking on her or for her to keep checking on me. We instinctively know that certain things will just happen.

praying effectively

Praying Effectively

Are you praying effectively? Do you always get what you ask for in prayer from God? Very likely the answer is “No”. But the bible says:

Mark 11:24 – Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
John 14:13 – And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
John 16:23 – And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.

Count it all joy

Count it all joy

We are called to count it all joy in the midst of our troubles. Sure, easier said than done, isn’t it? But Paul willingly chose to endure all of that and did count it all joy for the sake of Christ. He and Silas were singing while in prison. Remember, Paul said “Rejoice in the Lord always” to the Philippians. He said that when he was in prison in the most uncomfortable situation one could ever comprehend.
