Fear not

Fear not

They say “Fear not” is mentioned 365 times in the bible, once for every day of the year. I am not sure if that is correct because I have not really counted it to verify the truth of that statement. However, I do know that the phrase “fear not” is indeed mentioned several times in the bible. I ran a search for the phrase “fear not” on the net, and the results vary from version to version. The New King James version returned a result of 150.

Some people tend to add more emphasis to certain phrases or words in the bible based on the number of times it has been mentioned in the bible. For eg: “Fear not”. I do not place undue importance on any phrase based on its popularity in the bible. For eg: The phrase “Mary gave birth to Jesus” is mentioned only twice in the gospels. Does that make it less significant than “fear not”? Of course not!

But the message is clear in the Word of God. Anxiety is a rampant emotion among us today. Life surrounds us with innumerable challenges that add stress and fear, which steals our joy and peace. God sure does not want us to be filled with fear. Hence His word says “Fear not”.

Uncommen: Fear Not is a powerful 5-day bible study plan.

The Bible teaches us to cast all our cares upon Him for He cares for us. (1 Peter 5:7)

Each of the 5 days comes with a powerful devotional and a scripture verse for meditation. The devotional concludes with a couple of questions for you to ponder over, followed by a challenge.

This “Fear not” bible study plan inspired and encouraged me while teaching me some valuable lessons.

The Bible teaches us that fear is not from God.

2 Timothy 1:7 – For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity but of power, love, and self-discipline.

Fear not, for God is with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. His presence goes with you everywhere you go. Fear not!

He has given us His Holy Spirit. Trust in the power of the Holy Spirit. As long as you continue to trust in Him, there is always hope irrespective of your situation. Fear not!
